Brakes suddenly don't work, air hissing when I depress pedal

Asked by Dave Oct 07, 2015 at 04:00 PM about the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife was almost home yesterday when she called me to let me know that
the brakes on our Jeep had all of a sudden almost stopped working entirely.
She got the car into a spot out front, safely - I have no idea how. I went down
to take a look. I pumped the brakes to see if it was a line problem, but that did
nothing. However, I did notice that when I depressed the brake pedal, a very-
easy-to-hear air hissing sound occurred every time. Any ideas? Thank you very
much.

I put that link is a separate window to make it easy to hyperlink. There is a re-call for the brake booster on your car if you are not already aware of that

Did that work because I have the same issue and put a new booster in and mine still doesn’t work
