heater core replacement
i saw a video of a heater core being replaced on a '09 Patriot. they only
removed the dash panel cover right in front of the drivers legs under the
steering wheel, and whatever is behind the cover and was able to access the
heater core, instead of removing the entire dashboard. Is it possible to access
the heater core the same way on a '12 Patriot, or will the entire dash have to
come out? I'm trying to help a friend that doesn't have the $1,200 that the
garage wants to do the job.
Sorry to say ,but this is one that you have to tear dash out to get to,that is why the price of the mechanic is $1200 dollars.

He cut the tubes under the dash and then added hoses to reattach the new core. Without having to pull out the whole tubes which go 3-4 inches beyond fire wall there is enough room to get it out and the new one in without removing dash;
