No it’s your steering coupling inside the steering motor. It is not part of your drive train. You can buy the part for $4.00 at partsgeek.com. It is in the bottom half of the steering motor and you have to take half the dash apart to get to it. I just replaced mine by watching a video on YouTube.

This can be a safety issue, file a complaint with NHTSA. Some Hyundai and Kai models have extended warrantee, with enough complaints filed the manufacturer may step up to responsibility

this part is now covered under warranty. check the Hyundai website, https://autoservice.hyundaiusa.com/TXX7/MicroSiteTemplate/MicroSiteTemplateVINValidat e/2688. Hyundai Motor America is revising the warranty for the rubber coupling in the motor driven power steering (MDPS) assembly on 2007-2015 Elantra Sedans, 2009-2012 Elantra Touring models, 2011-2014 Sonata Sedans, and 2011-2015 Hybrid Sonata Sedans to 10 years from the date of original delivery or the date of first use, or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. This coverage is automatic; there is no action needed on your behalf.
