Check Engine Light

If you have an insurance claim for that accident, make sure the repair shop is aware of that check engine light so the cause is fixed. They will scan for the check engine light code and see if it could be accident related. Just cancelling the light doesn't do any good. It will just come back later when you'll have to pay for the repair. Disconnecting the battery will cancel the light/code but don't do it.
