Oil

Your oil dipstick should have full indicator on it marked with a line or in some cases it looks like xxxx last x indicating full . If over that line you need to have someone drain oil out to proper level or drain and start over. I suggest not driving it until oil is at proper level
Honestly my husband figured it was low and added two quarts without checking first. He just said the check eng light was on and eng. Smoking. I'm trying to figure out what he should do.
Can you check the dipstick to ensure the oil is not over filled ? And if engine light was on prior to adding oil . Oil wasn't the issue as low oil indicators are typically red and in the shape of an oil can . Engine lights are emissions so you must have it scanned to help pin point issue
Do u think putting 89 instead of 91 has could be the culprit

If there is too much which is any amount above the last mark on dipstick. then drain extra oil from oil pan drain plug.
