I disconnected the battery terminals and joined them together for five minutes, allowing the settings to reset (to default settings?) per a message i read on a Volvo chat sight concerning black sooty exhaust issues, and SHAZAM!, WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR ALL WAS PERFECT! No idle problems, no rough runnng, no nothin'! I can't believe it. Volvo VooDoo, fer sur, mate.

It's a 2013 Volvo and you're touching the wire together? Take it back to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty. Touching wires didn't fix the problem, it cleared up some symptoms. Do you want to go around disconnecting the battery for the next few years?
