My 07 xc70 engine was blown due to a mechanic replacing my water pump with an inferior no name pump brand. I need some feedback on an engine replacement. My concern is reliability afterwards. I love my ol Volvo.... all comments and opinions appreciated before I make this decision. Thank You

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I road trip often and camp in the back of my xc70, even had a mattress made
for her. It's nothing for me to take a 3000 mile trip solo. So I need a safe
reliable means of transport. The idea of replacing her engine sounds most
appealing without a car payment to impede my travel. I am however fully
aware of the importance of maintenance and thought I was more than meeting
those needs and obligations. she currently has 136,000 and I hope many more
to go... Thoughts and advice please.

Volvo sells engines for your car at about $7,500. If you google "volvo crate engines" you will come up with several after market sources for rebuilt engines.

I have the same problem. Had me scratching my head. Checked radiator flow and block flow and all fine and no leaks. Engine gets up to temp and the radiator stays cold. My guess is a cheap repair was done.
