Prius....looked about...I'll buy closer to home...prices not so different..tax will be, but smog might prove a problem if California is different than Oregon. Just thought I'd read that the models sold in Oregon were the same as California for the Prius. Prius
California has the strictest smog standards. In the US there are two standards - California and everyone else. Just check the smog info under the hood, if it is 50 state approved then it will meet California requirements.
Tennis - California is bad but not quite that bad. Some counties have no smog inspections except when you sell a car. Cars that are 1975 model year and older are smog exempt. Can't say I have heard about the car show thing but shows I have been to let you drive them in. Nutty cites like Santa Monica could be that way though.
Some people with trailer queens probably push their cars by choice as starting them up might cost them 20 hours of detailing.
