does the battery have to be disconnected to clean the maf sensor on a honda civic 2013 ?

No just make sure you remove it from the car and let it dry completely before reinstalling, only use specific MAF sensor cleaner

^^ ditto to the above, again use MAF cleaner only on the MAF. It's sold in any parts store.
