Kia Sorento 2014 starter issue.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Kia Sorento.  The starter is taking longer to start, not every time.
It normally cranks about 4 times and starts, every one in a while it takes 8 to
10 cranks to start. Could it be electrical?

Turn the key to run , don't start it , and listen for the fuel pump ( whhrrrrrrrr ) , shut it off and do it again then start it see if that helps . Whatever's wrong has to be diagnosed . I turn the key and give it a moment for the fuel lines to pressurize , most just crank it over . Don't put too much money into that thing .
