Headlights stay on when turned off - 2006 Liberty

Asked by Kristina Jul 14, 2010 at 10:33 PM about the 2006 Jeep Liberty

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I actually have 3 issues dealing with the lights.
1. Before when ever I locked or unlocked my doors using the buttons on my key, my lights & turn signals would blink. They no longer blink.
2. A few times I have noticed that my headlights stay on even though I have turned them off. I'm sure they were off bc when you leave them on & take out the key, a "chime" noise goes off indicating they are still on. There have been a few times that I have gotten off the jeep and returned a few minutes later to find the headlights still on even though the switch is off.
3. For some reason, the right side of the dashboard where the ac controls are no longer light up. When I turn on the lights (at night) only half of the ac controls light up.

Any ideas on any of these issues?

1. not really sure what that's about, you may have a bad wiring harness 2. if you turn off the car then the lights, the lights will stay on for a while 3. A light in your dash is out. i'm not that familiar with liberties but i believe you'll have to replace the ac controls in the dash
