Are high mileage kia souls worth it?

Asked by acerasclecooler Oct 16, 2018 at 10:04 PM about the 2014 Kia Soul

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm looking at buying a used car and the one that really caught my attention was
a 2014 Kia Soul Wagon, but it has 124,000 miles on it for $7,800.00. It only had
1 owner, and has a clean carfax. Is this a good deal?

The Carfax means next to nothing. It only displays submitted issues. A lot of things go unreported. The mileage to cost ratio is insane. You can find a much better deal somewhere else. There is also the issue of the recalls. Have they been done? Check with the NHTSA on their website to see what recalls are due. I wouldn't but it. Its too expensive.

Hi! I’m thinking of buying a Kia Soul 2011 with 155k on it for $7000. Is that reasonable or too expensive for it? How many kms does Kia usually last? Thanks!

High mileage Kia Souls are a good buy depending on what type of person owned it and how much money its selling for. I have a 2010 generation 1 soul + with 120,000 miles on it and it runs like new. I literally rebuild the car as i go along. This week i had the A/C recharged and i changed the air cabin filter. I also detailed the engine bay this morning. I replaced the original suspension with adjustable coilovers so that i could have a softer ride. Car has has a tune up. oil changes religiously , trans oil was swapped out 3 times. all belts have been replaced......drive train belt, belt for AC, power steering. I replaced the alternator, the starter, the water pump, ball joints and control arms. Next week i'm getting the radiator flushed and swapping out both the brake fluid and power steering fluid. Then i'm replacing the brake pads. Last but not least i'm getting it repainted.

I have a 2012 Kia Soul+ that is right at 170,000 miles. My family is the original owner and I would say it has above average use and wear and tear. I service the car regularly, and the only maintenance issue I have faced is a small piece in the steering column that needed to be replaced as the steering wheel would shake at 50-70 mph. I intend to keep using this car and am interested to see how long it will last.

A lot of kia souls have had recalls especially the 12 to 17. For engine repairs. My mechanic says if your are looking for a good Kia it should Be it 2011 and under or get a 2018.
