dealer can not figure this out. sounds like a diesel. we have tried different brands of gas.  seems worse in warmer days.

Subaru has a program they can load onto your ECU to reduce pinging at higher altitudes. I had a dealer do this for my 2015 Forester and it helped. Most of my driving is 2,000 + feet in elevation.
