Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I want to swap the crappy donut out with a full size spare, if the TPMS is
installed correctly on the spare will the sensors recognize it?

the ECM may only recognize 4 tires , you can have a regular spare without the TPMS , finding a rim may be a challenge , I went to the honda dealer for the same thing and they wanted the core ( the old rim ) , auto zoo may be able to get you an after market one or your bolt pattern may match an existing one ( myboltpatterncom ), check for back spacing and caliper clearance on both front and back with a new rim . I've ditched all donuts on my vehicles and have sets for summer and winter .

I found and nabbed an exact match for the rim. And after a couple calls this morning you are correct it will only register 4, though I if I needed to change it out I can go too any tire repair and they can use the sensor tool to change it in the ECM making it readable. Just have to take the time out to do it and whatever they charge
I rather doubt the full sized tire will fit in the tire well. You will be stuck with the spare taking up your cargo area.
The "full" spare WILL fit in the cargo volume...but only if the tool kit tray is removed. The additional sensor simply has to be programmed to the car...but I don't know if the system allows a 5th.
