What is the correct tire size for this truck?

I just need to know the correct tire size because i am going to get a new set of off-road tires.

go to tire shop will have correct size and name brand tires.
I need to know the year and rim size to be able to tell you. I'm not psychic. Look on the rim of the driver's door, or the sill by the latch on the body. There should be a label that says what the factory tire size is.
stock xj rims are 15x7" depending on if yours is lifted and geared correctly then tire size is really up to you.
For stock size you can go to www.tirerack.com, they will have it on there broken down by sub-model (sport, SE etc.) as for oversized tires: the largest I ever had before my lift was a set of 235/75/15's, but with a 3" lift im running 31x10.5 r15. Ive seen cherokees w 2 in lifts run 30x9.5r15. It all just depends on what your working with suspension wise. If youve got a stock suspension and worn out leaf springs in the rear (like most cheokees with substantail mileage) the LARGEST I would go would be 235/75/15's or equivalent if you're running 16" rims, otherwise you'll rub and tear up the new tires.

if you arent gonna do anywheeling I say get a set of all weather 235-75-15s and some 15x7 aluminum wheels. If you do plan to hit the dirt, but not too aggressively, maybe a set of All terrain 235/75-15s or even 30x9.50-15s, but those might rub just a tad up front on the fender flare. If you want off-road tires obviously you need to see your rim. The stock tire is a P235/75/15, a Goodyear Wrangler. If you want good performance in highway and unpavimented roads probaly you are looking for a Goodyear Fortera with Silent Armor, Michelin LTX or Yokohama Geolandar (AT/S as well) that are excelent in highway, good in other roads and very efficient on snow. There are a few Cherokees with 16" rim but are rare. For other sizes or another type of tire, you must look for your off-roads need or capabilities, like de BFGoodrich MUD that has 32" of external diameter, and can give you the posibility to drive something like well on highway. For another tires, you need to change the rim width because the stock 15 or 16" will be so tight for wide tires.

Oem is 225/75/15, but go with 235/75/15. Slightly wider- better ride/better look.
