why does the dealer say i need an alignment simply because the car is 2 years old

Asked by Dinger63 Nov 29, 2016 at 07:03 AM about the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Last spring when the summer tires were put on, an alignment check was performed and everything was fine. Dropped the car off this morning to get the winter tires (on rims) installed and sensors programmed, and was told it was time for an alignment. The car drives fine, no issues with tires uneven wear. Why do they want to do an alignment? Car is only 2 years old with 34,000km.

1 Answer

He wants money. Look at the old tires and if the fronts are worn evenly with no issues and the car drives straight then skip the alignment.
