Ive been looking all over for an answer to this. I have a 92 cherokee and my odo/radio are currently out. The battery wont charge either. Previously my radio had gone out (possibly along with my speedo and odo, but i cant remember) and it turned out to be bad cables (i wiggled them around and got it to come back) And this time i moved the cables around inside the harness for the battery clamp and got the cd drive to at least whir up (while the radio face itself did not power up) Now, all of these could be one of a few things from what ive read- the odo/radio/speedo are all battery/alternator issues, and all could be because of a bad cable or bad alternator. I'd really like to not replace my alternator and i just hope its a connection issue, but there you are.

Other than Electrical problems, your issues are unrelated. They share separate grounds and power feeds. You didn't state whether you Instrument Cluster is Digital or Analog but in either case - the Odometer is driven within the cluster by the Speedometer. Question: Does the Cruise Control work? If so, it's likely the cluster. In the case of the radio: OEM radio? If so, it's probably the radio itself - they weren't great units to begin with.
