I have a 1997 Jeep grand cherokee we replaced the BRAIN in it from a parts jeep, and did not know about the security ring around the key switch at the time, in the mean time the parts jeep has been crushed! NOW what can we do to keep it running? Will it be a NEW BRAIN & Security switch and key? Or can it be made to by pass the security????

Tthe new ECM has to be programmed to the current ignition if the ECM matches the vehicle from the beginning. Have the Jeep towed to a mechanic that has the necessary scan tools, so they can marry the ECM to the vehicle and ignition system so you can start the Jeep. Call around first to make sure they can help you.
