Would the security system drain the battery?

Asked by Angelina Mar 15, 2017 at 07:14 PM about the 2014 Dodge Dart

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I broke my key fob and had to have it keyed. Since I am not using the key
fob, the locksmith disabled the security alarm. Would this cause the to die?
If not, can you advise what may? No battery indicator light, alternator is
good, and just bought the car from a used car dealership.

Thanks, Angel

No it wouldn't and it possible you have a short, but I woukd go to auto zone and have the battery snd alternator losd tested to make sure that's not the issue

Thanks Cometguy, I'll do that. Nothing else has changed, other than the security system being disabled. I just got the car used about 6 weeks ago, and it just started doing it.
