Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee was given to me by a friend. No key fob, no battery. I can
not get the car to crank. It will turn over but, seems like the fuel delivery system is
disabled.

Check fuel rail for fuel, may be bad fuel pump,or relay.
Its probable the security system, try going to all the doors with the key and lock unlock all the doors, the security system will engage every time you disconnect the battery.
I would say the security feature is your problem. From what I've seen, you can use your key to unlock the back hatch and that supposedly resets the fuel cutoff. I also read in the owners manual that if a key is being used that has not been programmed by the master key or a dealership, it will do the same thing.
My Jeep Grand Cherokee would not start or even turn over. It would just click once and no start. This happened many times. I tried numerous things to fix. Nothing worked. I have a new starter, had my connections cleaned, I changed the fuses etc. finally one day when I was stuck again I read an answer from a person and it worked perfectly after I did what he said. I didn’t think it would work but I was ready to try anything. If you are having the same problem with your Jeep starting. Try this. Take your key off the key chain. You need to start it with nothing but the key, all by itself. I tried it and, to my surprise it started right up. I thought to myself, ok it worked that time but will it work the next time it doesn’t start. I kept the key off the chain and have only used the single key to start the Jeep since that time. It’s been several months and I’ve never had a problem. It starts every time all the time. I don’t remember who told me to take my key off the key chain! But I want to say THANK YOU!!!! It worked. Try it and good luck.
