2014 nissan sentra transmission

Asked by Jim Jan 20, 2020 at 12:18 PM about the 2014 Nissan Sentra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Nissan Sentra.  In December 2018 at 80,000 miles, I had to
have the transmission replaced. At that time there was no recall, and the
warranty was up to 60,000 miles or 5 years. I had the transmission replaced
at my own mechanic.  Since then a recall and class action lawsuit took place,
where warranty was extended to 90,000 miles "If replaced by Nissan dealer".
Since class action  lawsuit and extended warranty didn't happen until after I
had car repaired,  am I still eligible for reimbursement?  Had extended
warranty been in effect when transmission needed to be repaired, I would
have taken car to Nissan. Since it wasn't at that time, I took it to my own
mechanic.

Contact Nissan and tell them you want reimbursement. I hope you still have the receipts.
