i have a 2115 forester-is the arm rest suppose to move back and forth? i think it should be stationary

My arm rest doesn't lock, it easily slides slides back and forth. I'm pretty sure that is standard.

I dislike the armrest in my 2015 Forester, it won't hold still when I put my arm on it. It should have detents to hols it in position! Bad design :(

My 2016 Crosstrek console cover also unable to be locked in position. It slides back and forth and yes it’s annoying.
