Accidentally drove my 2015 Forester for about 16 miles in low gear. Average speed was 55. Did I kill it?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hit a big puddle once I got onto a city street and that's when I noticed it sounded different. It may not have been in low the whole way. I noticed my average MPG for the trip was about 29 miles per gallon and I would think it wouldn't have been that good if it was in low the whole way.

I will once I get off work. I stopped it and restarted it in the parking lot and none of the self check lights flashed red or yellow at me and none of the warning lights on the dash came on when I was driving it.

Since you have a CVT I doubt it was running at an extremely high RPM.

Lol. I won't. And I just drove it home. It seems fine. No trouble with anything. I think I must have accidentally knocked it into low when I hit the big (I mean really big) puddle in the dark and I was only a couple of miles from work by that point. And also on a road where I average about 35-40 mph.
