How do I find this out about the key fob?

Asked by Guru9FCJDX Dec 01, 2022 at 03:15 PM about the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu

Question type: General

My 2015 Malibu was bought from an individual.  All i received was one key.
How can I tell if my car will work with keyless entry? The person is no longer in
my area, so i can't contact him. The car is mine, i have the title. Can I purchase
a replacement fob and try?  How do i put the car in the program mode? I looked
in the car manual and can't find out . Thank you

First I would try a locksmith, if that’s a dead end then your stuck with the dealership.

Easiest way is to goto the dealer with the pinkslip and have a spare key made

Visit your local Chevrolet Dealer and have someone look at the RPO sticker, usually on the inside of the trunk lid. That will tell you if you have the option code for keyless entry. If you do you can buy new fobs, with programming instructions from Ebay. I did exactly that when I bought my 2000 Grand Prix. Hope that helps! Jim
