Question type: General

While starting car and not hitting gas the RPMs jumped several times and the engine seemed to rev.  Why is this happening?

On start up, your Jeep engine is trying to establish a stable smooth idle speed and not stall. If it's doing something it didn't do before, maybe you need a tune up and make sure you are up on your maintenance. If it's something going bad, it may show a check engine light, or it may not. So get you engine codes scanned for free at an auto parts store and see if something is really going on before it breaks. Probably nothing serious on a Jeep so new. Good Luck.
