2015 Subaru Outback wont Start after replacing battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2015 Outback has had a dead battery.  I tried to jump it with another vehicle but the Horn started blaring when I hooked up the Jumper cables.  So I then waited a couple of days and then tried to start it with a "jump pack"  but the call wouldn't turn over.  So then I went a  bought a new battery and put it in.  Still deader than fried Chicken.  I can turn on the headlights and dash lights come, but no crank, and no tail or brake lights, and no power locks.  I have looked for blown fuses and can't find any and I have tried the turning the Key off and on 3 times.
Stranded in Alaska, 300 miles from a Subaru shop.

Sounds like the anti theft system is engaged. Does an anti theft light blink in the instrument cluster when you try to start it?

I don't think so, It has different things flashing, like the brake figure and road hazards lights. But I have not seen the small red flashing light in bottom part of the dash panel blinking.

I was thinking the same thing and tried the turning the Key off and on 3 times. nothing.

I was about to pay for a tow from our remote mountain town to our Subaru dealership when I decided to call and inquire. Apparently, the valets at the dealership do this all of the time. I replaced the main fuse and a secondary fuse, which cost a total of 20 bucks. I’d already replaced my dying battery, which is how I knew that I was in trouble. This is great since everywhere I searched pretty much had me blowing the entire electrical system. For those two fuses and the battery, you’ll need a 10mm socket for the battery, 8mm combo wrench for the main fuse, the fuses (the Outback uses low profile mini) and a small fingered person. It took me all of 10 minutes. It would have taken less time had I my small fingered friend sooner.

By the way, our dealer is AutoNation Subaru West. They have given us great deals and their service and parts department are stellar. They are happy to help with advice and keep our cars in great repair without ever trying to gouge us.

So I just got the same problem if anyone out there got answer it would save me a ton of money to tow it to a dealer n fix it. Car battery died I try to jump it and the horn went bunkers. So I took it out replace it with a new battery and now it wouldn’t turn on. The headlights wouldn’t even turn on just the dash board lights. 2015 Subaru Legacy 2015. Keyless entry but it doesn’t even read the fob anymore. No power to the window no radio. Just the dash board.... I check all the small fuse but it was still good I couldn’t manage to get the main fuse out here is a picture. The big black fuse. Not sure if that’s the problem

So I just took apart me fuse box to get into my main fuse which was the 125 fuse. It was blown so that was the problem. Hope this helps other like Paul said above.
