Hi, thanks for responding. I have already taken my Jetta to two mechanics,
one being the Volkswagen dealer, the other a local mechanic. Neither know
what is wrong. Both put on a scanner and could find nothing to indicate a
problem. So, I’m not comfortable just putting in parts until one finally works
. Hard to believe in today’s world of technology ! Any other suggestions ?
Thank you,
Alicia

"Your car has a fuel or electrical problem; really could be either. It could be
leaking fuel injectors flooding a hot engine. It could be a bad sensor:
crankshaft position, cam position, or maybe even the engine coolant
temperature. Might even involve ignition components, such as coil or igniter.
Without actually seeing the car, it's not possible to say what the exact
problem is. Why don't you take the car to a mechanic to diagnose. Or go to
an auto parts store to get codes read and they probably won't charge you
for this. "
