2015 vw jetta loss of power going up hill

recently experienced power loss while driving up hill. pulled car off highway
and turned off engine. restarted car and drove w/o issues. our mechanic
checked engine and drove car w/o problem. when car lost power epc and
engine icon flashed on briefly.

Was the fuel level less than 1/4 tank? If so that was most likely it. Never run anything with less than 1/4 tank, doing so shortens the fuel pump life.
