2015 VW Passat shut off while driving and now will not start or even attempt to start.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife was driving the car merging onto the interstate. The engine just
shuts down, the radio, AC, everything else never misses a beat. She pulls off
the interstate and stops the car. The engine will do nothing. It will not turn
over or anything. When she tries to start the car the head lights do not dim at
all. As far as we know the only lights on the dash were low wiper fluid and a
low tire from a sensor that doesn't work anymore. If anything else came on
while she was merging it has since cleared when she shut off the ignition
switch. Sorry I cannot remember the engine size, but will get it when I go
back later to try some other things.

So, update, my wife failed to mention that the dashboard lights were not working. Found to be a blow 7.5 amp fuse that goes to:Current supply relay -J16- Heater element for crankcase breather -N79- Gas injection valves. Replaced fuse, car crunk, drove about 3 miles blew the fuse. Put in a new one, blew it immediately on try to crank.
