2010 VW Passat no electrical will not start

Asked by Guru1CNVX Sep 05, 2019 at 02:18 PM about the 2010 Volkswagen Passat Komfort

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband rents my car off
this morning and parked it.
When I went to get in it for work
the radio was playing with no
key in it. It is a key fob when I
inserted the key fob it killed
everything and there's
absolutely no electrical to the
car I cannot even open the
latch on the door to get the
trunk open nor can I use the file
to lock or unlock the door. It is
totally dead any ideas what's
wrong with this car?

I'm dealing with the exact same issue on a 2010 Passat Komfort 2.0t. Stopped at store and parked. Got out and went to lock the car, but nothing happened. Got back in and tried to push fob in to start, but nothing happened. Replaced ECU-power relay and Engine power relay, but still nothing. Changed battery in FOB for good measure, but as expected, it didn't help. Even tried swapping out the Gateway-module, but again, no change. Can anyone think of any other possible cause?
