2005 vw Passat won't start - no fire

Drove my 2005 vw Passat to a Dr appt. When I
came out of dr appt it wouldn't start! It's not gettin
fire!

does it drain the power when you try to turn it over for example does your lights flicker and dashlight not work?or is it trying to turn over and just isnt getting the fuel it needs?

Im having the same problem.. sort of... I use my car every day for work and on wednesday night i finished work drove to my brothers picked him up and went to asda.... when i got to my brothers i shut off the car and went in for a coffee came out started car and went to asda was in for about 10 mins came out tried to start car and it wouldnt start it just gave out some hideous scrapping noise un sure on where it is coming from tho..... started the car via bump start/ push start..... ran fine all the way from asda to my brothers dropped him off then all the way home.... with out shutting off the car... got up went to take the car to the gym as i didnt fancy a 5 mile run at 7 am and car wouldnt start no sound of fuel pump priming ether.... the fuel pump sounds like it is working but doesnt prime the lines and car cranks as it should...... if i try to crank it a few times in a row it sounds like there is something scrapping from under the car or that general direction....... all help is appreciate as need the car for work asap and cant work with out it..... its an 05 1.9 tdi
