Kia Optima FLYWHEEL

Asked by CENTENO5X5 Nov 25, 2007 at 10:09 AM about the 2001 Kia Optima

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I find myself having to replace my Flywheel, so here is the question for the "Gurus"

Can I use a Flywheel for a 2001 Hyundai Sonata - 4 Cylinder, 2.4L
In My                                      2001 Kia Optima        - 4 Cylinder, 2.4L

Both Flywheel Type have the same Disc Specifications
Both have the Same Slave cylinder Part number qualifier

But the Sonata Flywheel is about $500 cheaper.

What am I missing?

Thank you I found out that they are compatible, now the only problem is... No Autoparts place I have contacted so far carries this part :( I wish I could get it factory direct.

Have you found one, and did it work? Mine has been in shop for 2 wks and they say they can't find me one. That would give me anouther option so I might get it back faster. Thanks, Bo

Big deal with these is that there is a dual mass fly wheel, and a standard flywheel. You may have a dual mass and they are having a hard time finding you one for a reasonable price. I mean reasonable as in 600.00. Something to think about. And, I don't know if you can convert to the standard flywheel. Maybe something worth looking into.
