lights stay and fan stay on/turn on after car is off. dead battery

I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue.  When the car is turned off sometimes, the headlights stay and the fan motor stay on until the battery dies.  This morning when my wife went to start the car, the fan and headlights were on.  They were not on last night.  This problem is intermittent.  Any idea what is wrong?  Thanks.
