What would cause "carbon back up" in a 2015 Nissan Rouge with under 40,000 mi on it?

Nissan Rouge running poorly, then died altogether. Nissan reported to me the
problem is "carbon back up". They also suggested I bring it in every 20,000
miles to be cleaned. With under 40,000 miles, a $600 fee plus towing is not
what we expected from any car, especially nissan.

Carbon build up on the intake valves? If you have the direct injection 2 liter engine be prepared for this to happen again. I will post a link for you to read.

I just cleaned that carbon on the flange and around it just took off the air assembly just the one that ties all 3 components together and the sensor right beside the air filter with a spray I bought for 10 bucks at auto zone.600.00?
