Air conditioning [problems in a 2015 Nissan Rogue?

Did your dealer replace it under warranty?
UNFORTUNATELY, Nissan / Infinity has been the most inconsistent brand for reliability...... don't believe me....read Consumer Reports. Yes, if your car is still under warranty.... Or did you run up the mileage to an exceedingly high number in the first two or three years...if you purchased it when the model was released in September 2014... you may have gone 45 or 50,000 miles by now?
Looks like A/C problems are the number one complaint.............. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Nissan/Rogue/2015/
Same thing advised to me, worse thing was my warranty expired in Feb. I did mention about air conditioning stopped for a while in Feb but they just replaced thermostat and said its fine. Now it,completely shut down, out of warranty they are trying to rip me off with $500 at Mount Holly Nissan, NJ.
I just had my 2015 Nissan Rogue air compressor replaced and the problem is still not resolved. Now they’re looking into electrical but as of now I’m up to $1000. My warranty expired 3000 miles ago. First and last Nissan for me.
I went through the same problem, tell them to try 277234BU0A: Sensor ASSY, Intake. It is an incar sensor that has fixed the same issue with a number of people.
leak some water come from A/c
The air-conditioning stopped working in my 2015 Nissan Rogue. Dealership said they did a pressure test and I have a leak in the compressor. My warranty just expired, 52000 miles. Cost will be about $1,500.00 to repair. I'm going to try Matthews solution.
2015 Nissan Rogue. Air does not always come through the vents to the interior. The air conditioner will be working, blowing cold air. Then over time the amount of air pushing through the vents starts to decrease until no air is coming to the interior of the car. You can hear the blower working, and the compressor working, but the air flow to the interior just stops..as if the vents close down.

Same thing with my 2015 Rogue. Every summer....issues. Now, it doesn't blow cold air at all. Dealership found that the clutch on the compressor overheated and melted causing the compressor not to engage. Parts/Labor is 1,095.00. My extended warranty (60 mths/60k miles) ran out 2k miles ago. I've started at case with Nissan corporate asking for a goodwill fix since I have documented info of this problem since we purchsed it. Awaiting their decision. My family has owned 7 Nissans and I love them! But, how corporate handles this will determine whether I buy another.
As far as water leakage in the car you might have a clogged tube or even a bolt were the water is to drain its usually after the engine then up a little in the middle of car
On my 2016 Nissan rogue the AC doesn't blow air on full force. It's like on low even it I have it on high. The dealership changed the blower motor and the blower resister but nothing changed, What else could it be?
Same BS with me... 2016 Rogue. On hot days only, long drives, I can hear the blower going full throttle but nothing is coming out. I can't count the number of complaints online about this. I first reported it while it was under warranty and they replaced controller. A year later, on first hot day - long drive, the problem is back and the dealer is taking me to the cleaners, because it's now past warranty. I would like to invite anyone with this same experience to contact me and we can go at it as an organized group. cmoher3@hotmail.com. Put Nissan in the subject heading.
They are being taken to Court over this in Canada and transport Canada has opened an investigation on account of these problems. They have the power of ordering recalls. The more people that come forward now, the better and I'll help them get their complaints registered. My email follows : cmoher3@hotmail.com. As for consumers in the USA, perhaps someone can spearhead something there. I do know you have "anti-lemon' laws.
So, today I am taking my 2016 Nissan Rouge to the repair shop AGAIN and it's going to be the FINAL time for me. Everytime I drive, I get to my destination in sweats and I no longer want to drive this vehicle. Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit so that an investigation can be done with all the Nissan AC problems. Will be looking into the lemon law here in NY especially since I've only owned this vehicle since July 9, 2019.
I am having the same issue with my 2016 Nissan Rogue. I have no air conditioning now. It just blows hot air. I have also been having problems on hot days with my transmission. It acts like it is stuck in low gear at times and sounds really loud. Sometimes when I am stopped at a light, the car will not go for a while which is dangerous and makes people behind me pretty upset. This car is junk. For a 2016, I shouldn't be having all of these problems.
I have 2015 rogue and when a/c or heat is on and im in drive it shutters really bad. They changed compressor and it still shutters. They said thats normal for a 4 cylinder but it never did that before. Im still under warrenty but im at a loss. Does anyone have this problem?
2015 Rouge here also with blower on full high and trickle wind out of the vents... almost like the door in the ac housing isnt properly adjusting?
Please when you are posting replies, indicate your location. No point in asking for support if we don't even know what country you are in.
I found that I can survive (but not thrive) by turning the A/C off. After 20 to 30 seconds it begins blowing cold again. When it's no longer blowing cold, turn the air back on. Not a fix but a lame work-around.
my 2015 will be cold in recirculate mode and switch to outside and get warm or just be on outside and start getting warm. blower seems to blow fine but the air gets warm. if I turn the whole vent system off and wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on it starts blowing cold again.
PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE THIS THREAD WITHOUT INDICATING WHICH COUNTRY YOU ARE IN. The USA and Canada have agencies with files open on this problem.
So, I've had the same issue with my 2016 Nissan Rouge . . . No AC. I'm in Brooklyn, NY. It's been 1 year since making this purchase, and the dealership paid for all the repairs relating to the AC. Imagine driving when it's 88 degrees outside and the AC is blowing hot air, making it 96 degrees inside. My face is running water, my back is soaking wet, whatever I'm wearing is wet, etc. and it disgust me. I was told that there's a defect relating to the Air Compressor (or something like that), and until Nissan replaces the part, all fixes will be in vain. I'm looking at any and all information regarding a Class Action Lawsuit again Nissan. Is there anyone out there who thought about this as well?
guru... You have anti Lemon laws in the USA and whomever handles that has a file on this already. I can't remember who but it is in one of these threads.
"For any vehicles from the USA, the complainant must reach out to NHTSA to log their complaint. For any of your friends on the Canadian side, they simply need to submit their complaint either online or over the phone at 1-800-333-0510. Regards"
Hi Joe. I made an attempt to rile a complaint with NHTSA only to be told that they do not handle issues such as AC problems. I'm at my wits end and really do want to sue Nissan for them to fix the problem.
@Chollymo. Tried sending an email and it says your email address is not a valid.
What email address ? I'm not sure why the NHTSA has responded thus ?? Perhaps you need to frame it as a safety issue and there are lots of arguments to put forward on that. You leave the kids in the car on a hot day while you run in to a store. The aircon fails. You have to drive down a highway with your windows open and end up with hearing damage. Your windows fog up. Try and impress them that THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.And if that doesn't work, ask to escalate to a manager for review. Apparently, they already have a file on this and ask about the anti lemon laws.
Will get rid of my 2016 Nissan Rogue the first chance I get.
Not very nice thing to do and you may end up getting sued yourself for not disclosing the defect. Why don't you go back to the NHTSA and press for action ? What about those anti lemon laws I keep hearing about ?

Hi Joe. Here in New York it is 93 degrees, and I'm AFRAID to drive my 2016 Nissan Rouge, the first SUV I had ever owned and what a terrible experience it is when it's hot outside. I drove it yesterday (Sunday, July 5, 2020) for a few errands and came out looking like I was in the shower, so it's not a nice thing for me to be driving with windows down because it's so hot, and dripping all over :( With that being said, I filed a complaint with the NHTSA. I also think I may have been mistaken when I said that they did not handle the no AC issues. I think it was when I did the anti lemon law filing here in New York, and received the response that they told me that did not handle AC issues, so I was wrong on that one. Hopefully, my reporting the AC issues with the NHTSA will get the ball rolling. It also showed that there wasn't much complaint on AC issues with 2016 Nissan Rogues, or maybe I was looking in the wrong place.
Glad to hear now being that I'm in Canada, perhaps you can help out your compatriots when they log on with these complaints. I'm getting a lot of mail from Americans and I'm simply unable to help them. They need to file with the NHTSA and hope for a recall or sue.
Would love to see a lawsuit against Nissan.
So, today (July 9, 2020) in NYC the temperature is going up to "near 90" degrees, but the real feel temperature will be 100 degrees. Of all days, I have to drive more than 10 miles in my 2016 Nissan Rouge that blows out hot air when the AC is turned on, which will make inside my Rouge about 110 degrees. I love to drive, but must admit I'm afraid to drive my Rouge. Anyone who lives in the United States and have issues with your AC, PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE file a complaint with the NHTSA. That is the ONLY way we can force a recall so Nissan can fix this problem, or maybe even file a class action lawsuit.
In Texas and is over 100 and our 2015 rogue a/c is blowing hot as mentioned above by the others. Took it back to the dealer we purchased and they first found the clutch on the compressor was sticking and replaced and then it was fine for about a week, then yesterday we took it back cause it was blowing hot and they did a evac and recharge on the ac system. To no avail this did not fix it and my wife is pregnant and can’t deal with no a/c... I’m at a loss as to what to do
Tstand90... Shouldn't be at a loss. What did the NHTSA tell you when you filed your complaint ?
Took it to Nissan and they said it’s the a/c compressor AGAIN.. told them go for it since we bought an aftermarket warranty and it’s on them. Will update once I get it back and test it
So, I was at a boiling point when it was so very hot in New York, and the inside of my 2016 Nissan Rouge showed an inside temperature of 94 degrees. With sweat pouring down my face, back, arms and everywhere else, I HAVE HAD IT. After calling Nissan's corporate office, an appointment was made for me to visit a Nissan Dealership. Although I did not want to put out extra $$$, I did to save my life. I drove out with a Nissan Murano and had some good AC driving home. Do I miss my Rouge? Sure I do. But the no AC problems took a toll and I did not think I would survive. Tomorrow (7/20/2020) there's a heat advisory where the real feel temperature would be 105 in New York. I think I would have had a stroke if I had to drive the 2016 Nissan Rouge one more time.
Someone is going to leave their child in their "air conditioned" car and come out to find them dead . What is your NHTSA saying about all this ?
A/c compressor was replaced a second time and is still blowing hot intermittently. I am taking it back to the dealer today and will update soon.
tom what is the NHTSA saying to you ? You did file a complaint with them, no ? BECAUSE IN THE END THEY WILL BE THE ONLY ONES WHO WILL DO ANYTHING OF BENEFIT TO ALL OF US !!!!

I am reading this entire thread right now I have a 2015 Nissan rogue SV. I purchased it in 2018 certified preowned and it came with the seven year 100,000 mile preowned warranty. I have all these problems that everybody is saying the AC slowly started getting not very cold until finally it’s just blowing warm air occasionally some cold air comes out of it but for the most part it is not very good. I took it to a mechanic that I know he change the coolant checked everything and told me that it needs a new compressor which would be $900. He told me to take it to Nissan because they should cover it being that I bought a certified preowned vehicle I called my local dealership and they couldn’t even give me an answer over the phone they told me that they might charge me $140 to look at it for the hour. I am thinking of just calling Nissan corporate tomorrow and getting some answers I love Nissans this is my third one but for a car that is not even paid off yet and only has 60,000 miles the air-conditioning should not crap out !
I have owned my 2015 Nissan rogue for 2 years. I purchased it when it was 3 years old and 32,000 mi. Two months later when it was summer it had issues with blowing cold air. I took it in and they charged up the freon though I was surprised that it would need it after only 3 years. I live in United States and in the Midwest so we only use the air maybe three or four months of the year. Last summer it would barely work. this summer it works intermittently and I finally took it back in where they said that they found it was leaking. I was quoted $700 to fix it. very very disappointed because I'm getting close to retirement and I plan on having this vehicle for a long time. I only put 7,000 mi a year on it.
I have a 2017 Nissan Rouge. Live is Kingsport, Tennessee. It was 98 yesterday and, while driving to Chattanooga, the AC stopped blowing cold air about 45-50 minutes into our drive. It works ok on short around town drives, but on longer drives it stopped blowing air through the vents and the air is not cold. Removed the cabin filter and whatever is down there behind it was frozen over. We took a break and ate lunch, and when we got back in the car it was working again. I have no idea what’s going on but it seems to be a problem across the board. Who can I report this to?
I have a 2015 Nissan Rogue/USA purchased new and it is doing the AC no cold air. I live in Florida so not much chance to use heat. I had this happen once a few times in the past couple of years but this summer is worse...it is happening more often. In the past i would pull over stop the engine and then start it again it was fine. This last time; i tried to stop several times and it didn’t get better. I am gong to try putting on the heat an then the AC and see if that helps...but i don’t feel good about this. Honestly this is the only issue i have had with the car so far. And i am almost done paying it off! It has to be sensor related because it is intermittent...but i could be wrong

Hi all! I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue I live in NC so hot and humid and it will randomly start trickling air out of the vents every week or so. Took it to Nissan and they found “nothing wrong” and of course it wasn’t doing it at the time of my apt. It’s doing it more often although the air is still cold and the air sounds loud just won’t come through the vents. Anyone had any luck with what the issue is?

Hi Car Gurus my name is Roger I am from the USA in Monroe La. I on a 2015 Nissan Rogue and I also have had the same problems with my AC. Today 10-3-20 I was driving along and I begin hearing a slight sound coming from my vents while the AC is on. It sound like leaves in a fan type noise. The air was barely blowing cold. Also I have noticed on some day after work this summer I get in the car to drive home and turn on the AC and it barely blowing air and it got and don't get cold at all. I have been reading the threads above and seen that you recommend reporting to NHTSA. I don't know what that is nor how to contact them. The car has 59,000 miles on it .I have had I a year or more. Can you tell me what is NHTSA and how to contact them?
Class Action Lawsuit over this under consideration in Canada. Send me an email for details or to join. cmoher3@hotmail.com
I'm Glenni from Alabama USA. When we bought our 2015 Rogue 2 years ago, the AC went out the day after we purchased it. The dealer finally got it fixed after about 3 months of trying different things. Last month it went out again. They replaced the compressor under warranty; I paid labor and for a new AC belt. Now it is out again less than 6 weeks after the most recent repair. I did contact NHTSA. Since there is a class action lawsuit under consideration in Canada, I would like to know what we need to do to begin one here in the US

I am Athul from Canada (Edmonton). I have the 2015 Nissan Rogue SV model. I purchased in 2018 as certified preowned. I dint have any issue with AC until 2020 but then it started to blow out hot air. I gave for a quick diagnostic, they refilled Freon refrigerant and it worked for a week. After a month, I went to the same place and this time new evaporator and four seasons expansion valve were replaced as they think that system had some leak. Even the refrigerant was refilled but had the same issue after a week. I gave up and tried my luck in 2021 once again by refilling the Freon. I didn't even last for a week this time. Totally upset and don't know what to do ! Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks.
Athul, my email is cmoher3@hotmail.com. American complaints need to go to their federal regulator, I am assisting on Canadian complaints only.
Hi, David from Eason Pa. Same issues as everyone on here. Driving along with nice cold air then BAM…blower is on but no air coming through. I turn the air off for 5 min and it’s fine. Is there a sensor that closes the flaps in the dash?
So after a lot of back-and-forth I got Nissan to replace my leaking condenser they said that was the problem and they covered 75% of the repair and gave me a loaner. The people at the dealership were awful to deal with as well as the lovely woman called Courtney from Nissan corporate basically I am going to sell this car in a month and never buy Nissan again but at least I have working air conditioner! The car was only 4K Outside of the warranty and I basically told them that this kind of problem happens when a car is like 10 years old! I wish everybody luck here I cannot wait to sell this car

After experiencing similar problems with my 2015 Rogue, I am definitely filing a complaint with both corporate office at Nissan and NHTSA. Everyone with problems with their Nissan AC should do this.
Hi i am having all of the same problems with my 2015 Rogue here in Ottawa Canada
Anyone residing in Canada with AC problems on their Rogue, in the years clustered around 2015 , is asked to file a complaint with Transport Canada and please let me know that you have done so. TC is saying they aren't hearing from anyone on this, other than myself. Start making some noise . https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/PCDB-BDPP/fc-cp.aspx?lang=eng I can be reached at cmoher3@hotmail.com Perhaps someone can step up and offer American owners some directions on complaining to their authorities.
2015 Rogue SV. AC Condenser issue - AC only blowing warm air. Nissan dealer wants $1300 to replace leak in condenser. Plus the $140 diagnostic. Thinking of waiting until fall when I wont need it and replace it later or shop around - I notice condensers to buy outright are $90-300 onine. Perhaps someone else can find and do this labour for much cheaper. I am in Toronto, Canada.
Can any and all Canadians with this problem PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL and I have some helpful instructions for them. cmoher3@hotmail.com
Wondering about any dealer or factory resolutions for this in Canada for 2015 Rogue.
