It should be but be ready for it to be on back order as it's a very common Hyundai issue with their newer vehicles

You should ask.and find out. If this is a known fault they should replace it.

I would refer to your warranty paperwork and buyer's guide, it will tell you.
I have a 2015 Elantra, and this just happened to my car a few days ago. Been researching and Hyundai seems to have a lot of problems with trunk latches. Should be recalled. I also want to know if it's covered under warranty

mine just did 2017 sonata. at dealer now for engine issue too
