How many different different Hyundai key codes

Last week we parked our rented Santa Fe in a parking lot. On returning I
pressed the key. The car opened and I put my things in the back seat. Put the
key in the ignition but it would not turn. Wiggled the streering wheel: nothing.
Tried everything and then decided that it might be a computer problem, so
closed everything, got out and relocked the car. Pressed the key again and
"my car" behind me flashed and opened. The car I had been in was not mine!
But my key opened it. I could have had all the real owners belongings (I
didn't).
It was an identical silver Santa Fe. What are the chances?
