You mean the rear "hatch", by common lingo. It got out of calibration by any of several culprits. Regardless, it's an easy fix: gently raise (use your armstrong!) the hatch FULLY to its top position. Then push its button to close. It should then work. If not, you might have to exercise the full cycle by then CLOSING the hatch FULLY to its DOUBLE-click closed and LOCKED position. Then it should work. If it only opens partway again, try opening fully manually again, and setting this position with the twin buttons on the dash to memorize this (or any) open position you like.
