Towing a 7000 lb camper with our 2017 Toyota Tundra

Did your Tundra come with the towing package? Which model? Each model has different towing capacity. How much weight is in the Tundra when pulling? Is the camper really 7k lbs, or is that the base weight without water/waste, propane, and other stuff weighed too?
7,000 pounds is probably over the capacity of your truck. I suspect that if you weigh the trailer it is heavier than you think. The legal speed limit for trailers is 55 at least in my state, Maybe you need to get a real truck like a Ford F-250 but even my F-150 will pull my 35' triple axle travel trailer up a grade at 55. Maybe if you install a lower gear ratio third member it will help.
Locking out the OD might help but Toyota has a 4.30 rear axle ratio for their tow package which means their engines are low torque and require a lot of revs to tow a heavy load.
The Tundra is SAE rated to tow right around 10,000 lbs, and there's no "towing package" because they all come with the proper towing equipment standard.
If a Tundra feels sluggish with 7,000 pounds it will feel absolutely glacial with 10,000 pounds.
I have a 2017 Tundra, 5.7 and I ‘m able to pull 7,000 lbs with little trouble and go 70 mph without hesitation. You can increase power by installing a cold air intake and putting in duel exhaust. Dont’t recommend a Ford it’ll keep you in the dealership service department.

It looks like you have a TRD Sport. If so, I would imagine that truck didn't have a tow package. Do you have Tow/Haul Mode switch? I have a '17 SR5 XP (Toyota South exclusive,) and I pull over 10,500 pounds. Handedly pulled a 2-ton Class Mini Excavator(10,000 + trailer + gear.)
Toyota Tundra 2012 DOUBLE CAB S 4.6L Anyone know the pulling capacity of the above vehicle? I have a Coachmen Catalina Deluxe Edition 2013 RV.
What gear should I pull my 6500 pound camper in, 2013 Toyota Tundra 5.7 liter
The 5.7 Tundra is VERY capable of towing 6000 to 10,000 lb. trailers and is a MUCH tougher trunk than Toyota rates them at. The 4.6 engine however simply hunts for gears all the time. I have friends that have Chevy Duramax and Ford F150 and while the Duramax is a 3/4 ton I would pit my Tundra against either one in the above mentioned weight range. I have a 5500 lb 26ft trailer and you do not even know it is back there.
