Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello, I have a 2003 Lincoln town car, I was driving
to work today and hit a good size bump in the road
while on the brakes. The pedal went to the floor
and then I let off and pressed down and they
worked perfectly again. Does anyone know what
could cause this? Brake bleed, abs, low fluid?

Did the ABS cycle when you hit the bump? check the brake fluid level...warning should be on if low nest look at the brake pedal linkage gasp it check make sure its not loose.Scan the computer for ABS DTC codes. This is a basic start.
