Can you bypass the instrument cluster panel dimmer switch on a 2002 Lincoln TC?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my cluster lights have gone to what I suspect is the lowest setting, and I can barely see the instrument panel at night. The switch is rather expensive, and I have never used it. So I thought I could bypass it, but there are 4 wires. 2 orange and 2 white. Can I tie 2 together and bypass the switch? If so, can you tell me which ones to splice together?
Thanks
