Can I install a new radio into my 2003 Mazda Protige 5 and keep the atom subwoofer?

Question type: Car Customization

The guys at best buy and several
other installation places couldn't give
me a straight answer because they
said they'd need to take the radio
out. Does anyone know if I can just
put a new radio in and keep the old
speakers and sub?

Yes. As long as the subwoofer runs on RCA then you should be fine. Which I don't know of anything else they could run on. I have a mazdaspeed3 that had the factory bose sound system and was able to install a new stereo and keep the factory speakers and woofer.

Absolutly..... You can use any speaker you want. Even the ones that are currently installed.
