How do you replace the radio

Asked by Bale Jun 08, 2007 at 10:27 PM about the 1997 Mazda 626

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do you remove the plastic console around the radio to change it?

The plastic should just be held in by clips around so I would gently push a flathead behind the plastic and pull back until the clips release.

I just recently change a Mazda Cd player. There are two area along the side that you need to use coat hangers for to push the clips in. This will let you slide the unit out. It takes some patience but with two c shaped clothes hangers cut off you should have no problem.
