Heater on my Dad's 2005 Grand Marquis will not shut off

Asked by Teresapike1963 Mar 08, 2021 at 11:20 AM about the 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My dad has a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis.  We
replaced the climate control panel, but it has not
fixed the problem.  There is a clicking sound from
behind the panel.  The heat will stay on high and
can not be turned off

Sounds like an actuator under the dash, for the hot water, or the blend door. Common problem. usually requires removing the dash, big job. You could put a shutoff valve in the hot water line, but then you'd have no heat at all. Sometimes one can reach through with the glove box removed, buy a lottery ticket while you're at it.

May have to remove the dash, to fix the blend door actuator. Sometimes by removing glove box. Good luck. Big job. Common problem.
