Starter won't engage

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The battery kept dying on me, so i charged it a few times and the car would
start.  I replaced the battery, now the starter won't engage, no solenoid click
or anything.  I've shifted between park and neutral to be sure it wan't in
gear  and I still get nothing.  The headlights, interior lights all work.  Now
even with the ignition key off, and the key removed the dash lights (idiot
lights) stay on. Any ideas? HELP!

Sounds like your starter is no good or the starter relay may be defective...

The fact that the dash lights stay on tells me that your ignition switch is bad. It's not turning off, and not sending juice to the starter relay when you start. It wouldn't hurt to replace the relay, but I don't think that's it.
