86 D350 Wont start at temp

Asked by Thor86 Apr 01, 2019 at 12:35 PM about the 1986 Dodge RAM 350

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just got a 86 D350 with a SB 360. Truck starts fine in the morning and for
several days had no trouble at all but a old gremlin has come back. One its
ran for a bit and shut off it acts like the battery is dead. Turns over once or
twice slowly then nothing. Hook up jumper cables and it fires right up and
runs fine. I have replaced the starter, battery and terminals plus the alt was
tested and checked out ok........any help would be great!

Update the voltage regulator plug was broke and that caused the new alternator to go bad. Replaced the plug the reg and alternator and it's charging fine now!
