Truck turns over but won't run

Asked by Lvjturner Jan 19, 2019 at 02:40 PM about the 1954 Chevrolet 3600

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1954 Chevy 3600 with a 72 350sbc and
rodchester 2jet carb. The truck ran fine then
randomly wouldn't start the next day, no signs of
power loss or failure previously. I've replaced the
starter, distributer, rotor, lines, ignition coil,
alternator, and rebuilt the carb, checked the plugs.
It's still pulling fuel from the line and will start on
starting fluid but won't run on it's own. I really
thought it was a carb issue and don't know where
to go from here.

Some rochesters you can remove air-horn/top of carb, w/o removing carb from engine. See if fuel in float bowl? If you remove fuel line, from carb, aim into container, bump engine, does fuel come out?
