locate the timing mark on the crankshaft damper. hard to see unless you take the right side tire off and the small splash guard . turn engine till you see small line [the width of a hack saw blade ] clean it and put some white paint on it . At the same time clean the timing tab on the bottom cover and put some white paint on the 12 degree mark . This will help with the timing light . My turbo & none turbo Capris run best at 12 degrees . Don't forget to unplug the vac. lines on the distributor . Attache the timing light to the coil wire instead of the number 1 wire that way you get more light flashes since on this 4 cylinder all plugs fire at the at the same top dead center . Loosen the distributor and turn till you get the 12 degrees .
