Just look up reviews for their business. Google reviews tend to be a good resource, while a business may write their own fake reviews, they have no way to remove negative ones. BBB reviews are worthless, as that site will remove negative reviews as long as the business is willing to pay extortion fees. Yelp is also hard to trust. You can also check with your state's Attorney General office (texasattorneygeneral.gov) and check under Consumer Affairs, or Consumer Complaints, regarding this or any other business. You can also check how long this business has been operating, as shady operators tend to change names often to run away from all those negative reviews and consumer complaints.
