cruise control

Asked by Ray Jan 20, 2019 at 10:07 AM about the 2019 Subaru Outback

Question type: General

does cruise control work in 7(high gear) I have a 2019 suburu outback and it wont shift to 7th gear if im in cruise control

There is no 7th gear as you have a gearless CVT. The ECU will pick the gear ratio appropriate to the situation. If you think it is not working as it should you need to talk to your Subaru dealer.

This has a CVT there are unlimited amount of forward gear ratios. If you’re using the paddle shifting and seeing gear numbers displayed on the center dash that is only a relative gear range. 6 is the highest displayed number you will see using manual simulation mode with paddle shifters

I have the same problem. Previously the car did not reach the 7th w/o cruise control above 120kmh. Dealer managed to fix this, but they do not have any ideas why it's not using 7th on the cruise control. E.g you go 130 on 7th, then you turn on cruise and car instantly swithces to 6th
